Bogen / Manfrotto 3021BPRO Tripod and 3030 Head Questions Mar 2, 2002 Hi, I got this awesome setup for just a little over $200 shipped. It's very cool and not too heavy. If anyone has any questions about it, please ask. Maybe I can help you make a decision if you are looking for a tripod. And even though Bogen and Manfrotto are now owned by the same company (the UK based Vitec Group holding company) most of the Manfrotto products are still sold in the US with a different numbering scheme from the rest of the world.
This head unit, with quick release, plus some legs like the Manfrotto 190D I have attached, are the best support I have ever used. Strong, super easy to use, becomes instinctive in a matter of hours. Should be about US$100-140 or thereabouts.
Highly recommended. Don wrote: I'm afraid my Velbon 343 might be a little light for my 10D w/70-200mm f/2.8L IS lens.
What tripod, quick release and head (ball or pan) do you suggest. I shoot landscapes, lighthouses and grandkids. I would like to keep it as lightweight as possible.
Medium price range.
